Tim Heidecker shares new single “Buddy”

Comedian, actor, writer and musician Tim Heidecker has released a brand new album. High schooll is American Polymaths’ latest studio album and will be released on June 24 via Spacebomb. Prior to its release, Heidecker shared the album’s main album ‘Buddy’ with news of a tour of North America in the summer of 2022.

“Buddy” mixes joyful acoustic guitar and slinky solos and brings to mind the glory days of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers or Welcome Governors-fountain of the Fountains of Wayne. As the title of the album suggests, this single by Heidecker turns his attention back to his childhood and adolescence – all the way to the sweet mix of folk rock that could easily have been a soundtrack these years.

Heidecker produced Gagnfræðiskóli with Mac DeMarco, Drew Erickson and Eric D. Johnson. Described as “composed of some miserable friends”, the title “Buddy” is one we all know: the moody teenager who is tortured by compassionate and separated parents, but the only sanctuary is in the space between his headphones.

Heidecker’s upcoming tour is entitled Tim Heidecker live! Featuring Tim Heidecker and The Very Good Band. Heidecker and the band will prepare for the march in July with a performance at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on April 14 and the Williamsburg Music Hall on April 16.

The tour begins in July and begins with a week of warm-up performances at the Elysian Theater in Los Angeles. From there, Heidecker and company will depart for San Francisco. Chicago, Toronto, Austin, Boston and Brooklyn.

Ticket sales start on Friday (April 15) and you can view the entire tour below
