NFL mock draft 2022 – Mel Kiper’s new predictions for the top 64 selected in the 1st and 2nd rounds, including the first round

Here’s how we got there: Two weeks (okay, 15 days) until the 2022 NFL Draft begins. The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock, of course, but they are not the most interesting team in this draft. There are eight teams with two selections in the first round – a record if it shakes that way on April 28 – including Super Bowl contestants such as the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs. There are many ways the 1st round could go, especially with questions (and concerns) around the defender.

Let’s get into my annual two-round cartoon project, by predicting choice no. 1-64. I have four fullbacks and 12 wickets here, as well as four strikers in the top seven. I have interesting landing sites for the attacking tackles. And I have one time for a team that moves back into the 1st round to get an important need – and jump on another concession that needs that position to hold.

I’m predicting these 64 choices based on a combination of my updated rankings, team needs and what I’re hearing from the league’s guardians, spies and coaches. Especially in the second round, so much could change between the teams on the clock, so I use my big table as a guide to values.

If you want to go deeper than the first two rounds, check out Jordan Reid’s seven-round mockery. And you can catch up on a one-hour SportsCenter Special on Wednesday by breaking down that selection at 5pm ET on ESPN2 and ESPN +.
